Stone Endurance: A Comparative Analysis of Natural and Artificial Weathering on Stone Longevity

چکیده
The long-term endurance of building stones must be assured since their longevity has repercussions for economic and social value. Frequently, slabs flooring cladding are installed with polished finishing in outdoor environments technical ornamental purposes cultural heritage sites modern civil architecture. Compared to any other finishing, glossy surfaces rather vulnerable wear, particularly when they interact slightly acidic rainwater. Several hydrophobic treatments applied prevent this damage by preventing contact between rain stone; such efficient but sometimes non-durable. Stakeholders conservation scientists need better methods anticipate the future behaviour material solutions. Complying demand, a comparison is made natural ageing artificial weathering, reproduced UVA radiation, moisture spray accelerated weathering. Artificial weathering predict over time real environment. Data obtained through measurement gloss colour parameters, detection micro-textures SEM, calculation micro-roughness using digital rugosimeter demonstrate that weakly rainwater main cause superficial decay stone just six months exposure. This period corresponds 7–14 days Furthermore, loss efficiency durability coatings detected measuring static angle. highlights even if protective treatment was proficient, it could easily deteriorate normal conditions on polished, low-porosity stone. Additionally, water vapour permeability indicates variations regular transmission due ageing. first solution threats prevention pathologies, including aesthetic ones. Weathering of Stone Mountain Granite
The weathering of Stone Mountain Granite (adamellitc) forms kaolinite, endcllite, allophane and gibbsite of which kaolinite is the most stable. Bulk density ranges from 2.65 in fresh rock to a minimum of 1.48 in saprolite. It is a good index of weathering. Abrasion pH ranges from 5.0 in saprolite to 9.3 in fresh rock, and is direct]y related to bulk density and the amount of clay mineral. Among...
متن کاملProduction of artificial stone slabs using waste granite and marble stone sludge samples
In this work, the waste stone sludge obtained from the granite and marble stone processing factories was used for the manufacture of artificial stones using vibratory compaction in a vacuum environment. The results obtained showed that water absorption and density increased, and the flexure, compressive, and tensile strengths decreased with increase in the content of the waste stone sludge. The...

the speech act of disagreement has been one of the speech acts that has received the least attention in the field of pragmatics. this study investigates the ways power relations, social distance, formality of the context, gender, and language proficiency (for efl learners) influence disagreement and politeness strategies. the participants of the study were 200 male and female native persian s...
15 صفحه اولDurability of anti-graffiti coatings on stone: natural vs accelerated weathering
Extending the use of novel anti-graffiti coatings to built heritage could be of particular interest providing the treatments are efficient enough in facilitating graffiti removal and long-lasting to maintain their protective properties without interfering with the durability of the substrates. However, studies of the durability of these coatings are scarce and have been mainly carried out under...
